Mrs. Dominique Ouattara has launched the tournament of Children of Africa Foundation bearing her name, Wednesday, July 13, 2016. The opening ceremony of the 9th edition of the soccer tournament for children, girls and boys from 07 to 15 was held at the headquarters of Children of Africa Foundation in Cocody in the presence of Mr. François Albert Amichia, Minister of Sports and Leisure, Anne Desirée Ouloto, Minister of Sanitation and Hygiene, Mr. Gilbert Kafana Koné, Mayor of the Municipalities and Communes Union of Côte d’Ivoire (UVICOCI) and many other personalities. Like at the previous edition, the 2016 edition will take place in 50 localities of the country. The total cost of this sports competition for kids is 50 million CFA francs.
Mrs. Dominique Ouattara, President of Children of Africa Foundation has taken this opportunity to make a brief history of the launch of the first edition of the football tournament in Abobo in 2008. “(…) As you may know the football tournament of Children Of Africa Foundation, was initiated in 2008 in Abobo, so that our children can have fun with the sport during their school holidays. This event, particularly appreciated by our children has been extended to fifty (50) locations throughout Côte d'Ivoire, to their delight, "said Mrs. Dominique Ouattara. For Mrs. Dominique Ouattara, the main characteristic of this tournament is to combine business with pleasure. For sport, beyond the health benefits for children, has other virtues. "(…) Football is the most popular sport in our country, and it fascinates both players and spectators. It builds a certain cohesion and bring communities together in a friendly, sharing and good humor spirit, " noted the founder of Children Of Africa, before calling for all her wishes this competition to take place" in team spirit, discipline and fair play.
